Question #: 7989

Question: Do you sell plans (dimensions of parts, or even g-code) for me to build a greenbull?

Current Solution

The files and hardware option for our machines has been removed from the site due to the following reasons:
Difficulty for the end use of the files and the challenges (and time/money) on our side to assist in using these files.
The abuse of these files over the internet.
Ultimately may reduce the sales of machines keeping us in business.
Sadly, this is what has come out of our company attempting to be open; however, the machines sold on this site is still far lower in price than the competition for the quality that we provide as we have a great desire to engender the cottage industry to fulfill their need for low end manufacturing. My sincere apologies if this causes any inconvenience.

NO, is not possible, I can help with the shipping cost

  • CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME HELP OR POINT IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO INCORPORATE MK 7 EXTRUDER WITH BOOK PLANS FOR 3D PRINTER?

Mounting the extruder to the whiteAnt can be done a couple of ways. One is to take the 4 mounting holes located at the lower portion of the z-axis rail support and use long screws protruding out. Take a thinner material and drill the four holes matching the locations of the 4 screws and screw on nuts to hold it in place. The other option would be to use the metal bracket and fasten to the edge of the rail support.

  • WHAT LENGTHS OF ROLLER CHAIN DO I USE FOR THE GREENBULL 4X CNC?

The roller chain lengths for the greenBull 4x is:
    - 13 feet for each side of the X axis (total of 26 feet), and
    - 6 feet for the Y-axis

  • I BOUGHT YOUR BOOK AND WAS HOPEING IT HAD PLANS OR DIMENTIONS ON HOW TO BUILD A CNC HOLD 4X8 SHEET OF PLY. WILL THE IN SCALE UP?

    BYCNC Response:
The book build was intended to be 20 inches x 40 inches. Larger machines were designed after the book build was introduced so customers would have the option to go bigger than what the book offered. Check out our larger machines on the website as the machines sizes range from 1 foot x 3 feet all the way up to 6 feet x 12+ feet.

    User Response:
I'm not wanting to spend $3,000+ on a machine, I want to build one that will do a 4x8 sheet of wood. Will the plans in the book scale up?

    BYCNC Response:
It is possible to scale the book build up, but the rigidity of the gantry would be questionable at that span, even if the height of the gantry structure were to be increased. The gantry design would need to be modified to become a box shape rather than a flat configuration. The kits on the site were design for those wanting a larger machine.

  • If I buy the Combo #1 with hardware, plans for $255.00 and get all the required parts, will i be able to use with Autodesk 123D?

Yes, you can use the Autodesk123D CNC Utility found here: http://www.123dapp.com/aboutcnc

This utility will work with any standard CNC machine. Our machines use standard electronics and you choose the software that controls the CNC machine.

  • BUILDING ONE OF YOUR GREENBULL 6X LONG AND 2.2 KILOWATT SPINDLE DOES NOT FIT. SEEMS LEAD SCREW YOU SENT WITH KIT IS SHORT 42" LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE 5 OR 6 INCH LONGER. THIS CORRECT? WHAT THE NEEDED LENGTH FOR UNIT?
  • I want to build my first CNC machine for PCB manufacture. I wish to manufacture at most A4 sizes. Which CNC kit do you recommend?

The blueChick would be the perfect machine to iso route PCB boards. The A4 size is 8.3x11.7 inches and the blueChick is 12x36 inches. It's a bit larger, but you would be able to route many more PCBs. I would also recommend getting the 1.5 kW or 2.2 kW spindle for the blueChick since you will want very low runout to make the isolation routes (kerf) between traces very thin.

  • DO NEED TO SQUARE UP THE MACHINE AND IF SO YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS OR VIDEO FOR THIS?

The eyebolts are used in the squaring of the machine. I would use a standard carpenters square and first run the end mill along the edge of the square to first make it parallel with the long axis. Then run the end mill along the other edge with the short axis and adjust the eye bolts and chain according to the angle that the machine is out of square.

  • I have just purchased a 4x8 Greenbull system second-hand. Are there any schematics for table dimensions and rail-mounting available so that I can build a table? (previous owner disassembled)

Actual table dimension: 4'x8' is 56.078"x 121.50" (the overhang in the illustrations should be 3/4" thick)
To determine the frame dimensions, first consider using the frame height shown of almost 3' (2.86'). The width of the frame should be 4" narrower than the dimension from rail edge to rail edge (6X rail to rail is 80.078"). This will provide a 2" overhang on both sides (4X frame width should be 56.078").
The length of the frame should be 4" shorter than the desired length of the rails to provide a 2" overhang on both ends. The travel length will be 20" shorter than the rail length due to the space occupied by the gantry sides.
Two long pieces of 3/4" material will need to be placed on top of the frame with the 2" overhang on the sides and the end. These long strips of material will receive the rails and the chain mounts on the ends.

  • WHAT DOES THE GREENBULL KIT INCLUDE AND DO I NEED TO INCLUDE?

The greenBull 4X comes with all of the components and electronics to assemble the gantry of the machine. You will need to build the table. We provide the rails and roller chain for the X-axis (along the length of the table for full 8 feet of travel). You will need to provide some wire to connect the electronics and a computer to run the machine. You will also need to purchase the software that you will need to run the machine that matches how you will apply the machine. We suggest the mach3 control program. The CAM program is up to you as there are many options out there.

  • DO YOU GIVE AWAY THE PLANS FOR REDLEAF/REDSPROUT BOX?

Thanks for the kind words. The kit is available for those that want the parts to assemble the case which comes with the computer parts. If you don't need the computer parts, let me know and I will offer the bare bones without the computer system.

    Previous Solution:
I already have a DIY CNC machine with all my electronics but I have two cases the size of a mid tower PC and was looking to shrink the weight and footprint of all of them. I understand if you don't have plans available, I just really loved the design and compactness of your case.

    Previous Solution:
The redLeaf and redSprout boxes are meant to provide enclosure to the systems that we assemble in-house for customers that prefer a complete plug and play system. We provide the kit of parts for the enclosure from overwhelming customer request. There are no plans available for the enclosure and the complexity of the parts needed to be fabricated is quite high where the task of cutting out all of the intricate parts by hand would be a larger investment in time and materials than the cost to purchase the kit.

    Additional Information:
Just curious at what you would sell the box itself empty or the dimension files for the box for?
