i would like to turn on my water pump with out3 or 4 when i turn on the spindle. I have Mach3 working with the spindle on out1and 2. I have a relay wiredbut cant get out3 to flip.

We like the water cooled spindles since they don't blow the chips around the shop. The air cooled spindles have a force of air that partly makes the vacuum and dust shoe non effective, unless we design a diverter, which limits the cooling effect for the spindle.

For our cnc we're searching for an air cooled spindle with 2.2 kw. On this page we've only found water cooled ones. Is it possible to get an air cooled spindle from you or do you have special reasons for don't selling them?

Spindle comes with 1/4" collet.

I just purchased the 2.2 kW water cooled spindle. I also ordered a 1/8" collet to go with it, since I assume it comes with a 1/4" collet. Is this correct?

Hi, I'm interested in the 1.5 kW (kilowatt) Water Cooled Spindle with Inverter (VFD), I would like to know about the run out of this spindle?

Our spindle should work fine with your Delta VFD-M 220v. Spindles that match a VFD are specific to the coil windings. The bearings, shaft and other mechanical components that make up the spindle may be different, but that should not matter.

I have a GMT 2.2kw water cooled spindle that sounds like the bearings are going out and want to know if your spindle (https://buildyourcnc.com/Item/spindle-inverter-2!2kw-spindle-novfd) is comparable for a swap. The drive is a Delta VFD-M 220v.

The weight of the 2.2kW spindle without the VFD (variable frequency drive or inverter) is 11 lbs or 5 kg.

The 2.2kW spindle with the VFD is 15 lbs or 6.8 kg.

I am interested in buying the water cooled 2.2 KW spindle for $339, how much does it weigh?

We don't have experience running a spindle directly from a rotary phase converter, unfortunately. The fear that I have is the control of the voltage and current to the spindle and how that relates to the coil winding for each phase. If your rotary phase converter can operate within these tolerances (which need to be known), then I don't see the problem, but the spindle will exhaust its warranty by doing this.

Regarding the CAM software, speed can be set for various machining operations, but the actual speed control will be controlled by the control program that interprets the g-code output by the CAM.

I am looking at purchasing your 2.2 kw water cooled spindle. I'm assuming it comes with the VFD. I have a rotary phase converter in my shop. Are these spindles 3 phase? And if so, can I bypass use of the VFD and control the spindle speed by the CAM software instead? Or is the VFD an absolute necessity to use on the spindle?

Spindles are generally covered up to 1 year after date of purchase. We do not repair them in house, but we do work with our manufacturer to replace defective units. Generally if you have a defective unit covered under warranty, we will issue a replacement.

The AVID CNC has a control box that contains a large connector with a lot of pins. Two of those pins are reserved for the on and off of a spindle. Hook up pins 7 and 8 of the Avid CNC control box to FWD and GND in the VFD and control the speed with the dial on the VFD.

Absolutely. These spindles do not get bogged down under load like routers will. The speed is regulated and current will adjust with the load.

I have big problem with my water colling system on CNC. I think some things are internally clogged on water cooled spindle.. It's not debris, It's heavy than debris.. Please help me immediate if you can..

Yes, all of the spindles come with collets. The collets have a 1/4" (6.35mm) bore for end mills that have a 1/4" shank. The ER specification is different for the 1.5kW (ER-11) and the 2.2kW (ER-20).

I’M LOOKING TO PURCHASE SPINDLE AND VFD WAS CURIOS IF THE SPINDLES COME WITH COLLETS SO WHICH ONES?

From reading on the Hitachi WJ200-022SF VFD, it seems as it will work just fine with this VFD. However since we have not tried this cross match, I would carefully take each connection and setting into great consideration and detail on both the Hitachi recommendations for setup, as well as our spindles recommended setup.
Our spindles do not have a thermal couple temperature output.

There is a button on the front of the VFD that will cycle through RPM, Freq, and a few other readings. If there is a >> button on your VFD, that will work. If there is a mode button on your VFD, that should works as well.

That model will not be able to show RPM. You will be able to show the frequency, which can be used to determine the RPM. RPM equals the Frequency x 60.

At the top of my control panel is has 6 different lights which indicate what your seeing. in order from left to right they are COM, ALM, DISP, RUN, Hz, RPM I have seen the ALM light up on initial set up but that was fixes with a parameter change. The run light shows up when i turn the spindle on and and it is running. I am however not able to get any of the other lights to show or to get the RPMs to display

If you do see an RPM light on the display, that panel sticker may be a sticker used for many types of VFDs and the RPM is not used. There is parameter: P00.24 which allows you to pick what to display. The choices a
re:
0: Display current target frequency. This will display your knobs, potentiometer, setting, not the actual spindle frequency.
1: Display electric machinery run frequency. This will display the actual frequency that the VFD is currently sending to the spindle.
2: Display electric machinery run current: this will display the current the spindle is currently drawing.
3: Display input AC voltage. Self explanatory.
4: Display mother line voltage. This will display the actual voltage at the input.
5: Display output voltage. This will display the voltage at the UVW terminals for the spindle.
6: Display speed paragraph number SPx. I believe this displays which frequency is being selected (P07.00 to P07.07, or 1 to 8 respectively).
7: Display inverter temperature. This is the temp of the VFD, self explanatory.
8: Display input signal X1-X3/output signal. This simply shows the inputs/outputs associated with the external terminals.
9: Display user variable. This one I have not delved into, so it may be something to look into.
10: Display user count value. Same, this one could be useful.
11: Display temporary debugging variable. Haven't tried this one, so I can't inform of any useful information but it won't pertain to this subject anyway.
12: Display automatic multisegment run step and time. I haven't delved into this one either, but it won't show RPM.
