We like the water cooled spindles since they don't blow the chips around the shop. The air cooled spindles have a force of air that partly makes the vacuum and dust shoe non effective, unless we design a diverter, which limits the cooling effect for the spindle.

For our cnc we're searching for an air cooled spindle with 2.2 kw. On this page we've only found water cooled ones. Is it possible to get an air cooled spindle from you or do you have special reasons for don't selling them?

I am looking at purchasing your 2.2 kw water cooled spindle. I'm assuming it comes with the VFD. I have a rotary phase converter in my shop. Are these spindles 3 phase? And if so, can I bypass use of the VFD and control the spindle speed by the CAM software instead? Or is the VFD an absolute necessity to use on the spindle?

I ordered a 1.5kW Spindle and Inverter (110 Volt) on December 18th and have heard nothing since. I notice you did charge my credit card for the purchase. Please update me with an ETA as soon as possible.

You will need to look for the parameter that controls the run frequency. The frequency can be controlled bu the panel, external terminals, or the RS485 TX/RX terminals (UART protocol). You will want to change that parameter so it uses the panel. If you are referring to the maximum panel dial frequency is only allowing 200-300 rpm, then look for the parameters to control the frequency.

For 200 RPM:
Hz = 200/60 = 3.33 Hz

For 300 RPM:
Hz = 300/60 = 5 Hz

Conversion to RPM:
If you ever find yourself yearning to reverse-engineer the process, the formula is as follows:

RPM = Hz × 60

Look for values that match somewhere between 3 and 5 in your frequency parameters and replace them with 400 to give you 24,000 RPM max.

CamBam specifically creates the g-code (machining operations) instructions to be loaded into Mach3. Make sure in your CamBam g-code file parameters, you are using the Mach3 post processor. If you have already done this, let me know. If you are not sure how to do this, let me know.

They do have a similar looking thread as the G1/4”, but I will confirm in the morning. We use the G1/4” on the pump and radiator so it will be easy to determine this fit when I get into the office.

These are M8x1 thread. I was able to find M8x1 3/8 barb fittings on Ebay. I plan to drill and tap my spindle to G1/4 though.

[77] Hello. I’m interested in buying a water cooled spindle and VFD. I have an Avid Pro CNC and would love to control it using Mach 4 but I keep hearing it’s difficult to integrate. You will need PlanetCNC software for the USB breakout board and when plugging in the USB the computer should automatically recognize the board, however you can go into device manager to see if the USB terminal is working correctly.
The parallel breakout board; the USB is not a connection terminal rather than a power source, and the parallel port will be the communication terminal.
The items you will need for a water cooled spindle would be: water pump, silicon tubing(length desired by customer), a extension cord(from a hardware store(orange))(1 same gauge wire/length as extension cord).

The VFD does come with a manual that details the wiring and connection specifications, terminal features and a list of the parameters. There is no information on how to connect it to Mach3. It does detail the specifications within the parameters and terminal features on the analog input that is used with Mach3 and other control programs.

Generally, you’ll need to check what control software will need to be used with the CNC router. Our machines use industry standard electronics and control software that is nonproprietary so you can use just about any software out there with our machines.

Our spindle should work fine with your Delta VFD-M 220v. Spindles that match a VFD are specific to the coil windings. The bearings, shaft and other mechanical components that make up the spindle may be different, but that should not matter.

I have a GMT 2.2kw water cooled spindle that sounds like the bearings are going out and want to know if your spindle (https://buildyourcnc.com/Item/spindle-inverter-2!2kw-spindle-novfd) is comparable for a swap. The drive is a Delta VFD-M 220v.

I have not tried connecting a 110V spindle to a 220V VFD; however, the parameters in a 220V VFD do allow changes to the values for the spindle motor. If you do plan on connecting the 110V spindle to a 220V VFD, damages can occur, so I would not recommend it.

I have a 2.2kw water cooled spindle with a YL620-H VFD. The VFD uses the P#-## program format. I believe I have all the correct settings setup but when I turn the unit on, it spins at about 200-300 RPM regardless of what frequency I choose.
