Introduction:

Build your own professional large CNC router or Laser machine. Full set of 24" x 36" 40 to 50 page CNC router plans sets with assembly instructions.

Description:

We decided to bring back the successful CNC router plans option, but to instead offer the plans for the newest and most advanced CNC models. The plans can even include the laser cutter and engraver machine gantry and 4th axis attachments.

The CNC router plans come in a 24"x36" 40 to 50 page document set. The plans include a Master bill of materials for the CNC router for the overall CNC machine and the bill of materials for each sub assembly, like the Gantry, Y carriage and Z axis, Laser gantry, 4th Axis, Table, etc.

The sub assemblies with head the part layout and cut sheets. All of the part are laid out at one-to-one (1:1) scale, so you can lay the sheets right on top of the material and cut it out. All of the drill holes have a center mark so you can use a punch to provide a divot for better drilling accuracy. Features such as counterbores and pockets are shown either in section or hidden line elevations with dimensions showing the depth at which to cut or drill the feature. If you wish to cut the parts out the traditional way, the parts are fully dimensioned.

The plans also include very detailed instructions on properly assembling the machine and sub assemblies. The instructions will guide you through attaching the parts of the sub assembly of the CNC router and then attaching the sub assembly to the main assembly of the CNC router. The sub assemblies will contain a section that consists of the bill of materials for the specific instruction (or step) and specifications like wire length, or screw type and size. To make the assembly instruction very clear and easy to follow, the item that is to be fastened or installed is highlighted with a heavier line weight. Some of the steps for the CNC router plans assembly instructions may contain notes or more elaborate detail, generally focusing on proper mechanical functionality for the CNC router and laser gantry, or the fit and function of the overall CNC assembly.

The plans also show in great detail the cable and wire runs, color coded to discern each wire or cable and to what terminal they are connected, including the names of each terminal and the length of wire required for the routing of the wire or cable throughout the CNC machine.

These plans are intended for anyone that has a desire to build their own CNC machine. No special abilities are needed and as always, we are here to guide you through the process. Anyone that builds a CNC router with this complexity will have a more intimate knowledge of this technology and is especially great for individuals, teams or schools to master mechanical, mechatronic, electronics, electrical, and structural systems.

Due to the nature of digital content, our store policy does not offer refunds for digital plan purchases. Once a digital plan is bought and delivered, it's considered used and cannot be returned. This is because digital items are immediately accessible and cannot be physically returned or verified as unused. Additionally, once the digital plans are downloaded, we have no way of ensuring they are removed from your computer or devices, further complicating the possibility of returns. Please ensure the digital plan meets your requirements before making a purchase. Your understanding and acknowledgment of this policy are appreciated.

  • [CNC Router and Laser Plans Set] Hello. To what extent can the design plans be customized? For example, if I wanted servo motors instead of steppers? That would requirements for motor mounting, controls, and electrical. Thank you.

Yes, servo motors can be mounted on this machine. If the mounting dimensions are different than NEMA 23 or NEMA 34, then all you need to do is keep the center of the motorshaft with the center of the bearing location and locate the mounting holes for he servo you wish to use. Most industrial servos used for these machines share the same mounting dimensions and NEMA specifications.

    Additional Information:
This machine is one of the most customizable machines out in the wild. Customers of these machines have fashioned many modifications to suit their needs.

  • [CNC Router and Laser Plans Set] Hello, the plans contain computer files DWG, DXF, STL or similar?

The digital plans arrive in a .DFWx format. These files can be opened by the free design review application by AutoDesk. The .dfw format provides high precision for all of the geometry within the file, just like .dfx, dwg, and other cad formats (i.e. precision in terms of the number of decimal places provided for vertices in the geometry). This format is used to provide higher precision than what .pdf files can offer, and the files are protected. Please note that files received from us come with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and are embedded with the customer's details to discourage widespread distribution.

  • [CNC Router and Laser Plans Set] Are these plans metric or imperial ?

The plans are imperial. If you need the dimensions to be in metric, contact us and we may be able to provide plans in metric instead. The hardware used cannot be converted to metric (i.e. 1/4" screw), but the hardware that is similar in size, like M6 is ok as long as the cross dowels, or nuts mate with the screw desired.
