BuildYourCNC at Houston Mini Maker Faire 2015We attended Houston Mini Maker Faire for the 2nd year in a row this past November 14th at the George R Brown convention center in Houston. The venue was about twice as big as last year as the show continues to grow exponentially.
We decided to use the opportunity to introduce our newest machine: The Vertical Laser XL. While we weren't able to actually run the laser itself, we did have the machine running to show the movement.
The event itself was grander in scale with about twice as many attendees as last year. There were some very impressive exhibits and a lot of family-oriented activities for the kids. Overall it was a great success and we continue to be pleased with the progress the maker community is making both locally and abroad.
We handed out stickers to the kids and enjoyed explaining to both children and adults alike how our machines work and what they can do. We also brought our blackToe CNC along and did some carving demos to showcase the machine's abilities and functionality.
The organizers did a fine job of making sure setup and takedown went smoothly. Having the event in downtown Houston definitely helped widen the reach for the show.
We hope you'll make it out to the show next year as they expect it will be even bigger and better!
