General Description of a Constant Vacuum Source Specifically Applied to Pick and Place

The block diagram of a vacuum source intended for the use on a pick and place machine consists of a motor and pump (vacuum pump) drawing air out of a tank. The motor/pump is actuated by a microcontroller that is sensing the pressure in the tank using a pressure sensor. The tank is connected to a solenoid and valve that is connected to a nozzle. The valve/solenoid will open when the control program requires suction at the nozzle and close when not needed.
