Introduction:

Alibre is an exceptional professional-grade CAD/CAM software. I'm sharing information about their company solely because they're dedicated developers maintaining a "pay and own" model. I'm not earning any commission on their sales; I'm simply providing this resource because their software is outstanding. While many competitors have shifted to subscription models where users don't own the software, Alibre remains committed to their original values. As a result, I've stopped using Fusion360 and Inventor in favor of Alibre.

Description:

As a practicing Architect and Urban Designer back in my early occupation, when teaching CAD in ITT, and working as a CNC enthusiast for the last 17 years, I have used a vast array of CAD and CAM programs. Some of the programs I have used are AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, CAMBAM (which I also love and has the same price and ownership model), and Fusion360.

All of these are good programs, although it took me a while to wrap my head around Fusion 360 since I was accustomed to the Autodesk Inventor model/assembly process. In Inventor, I had constant breaking assemblies related to parameters, but I'm sure these may have been a skill issue (only having about 8 years of experience with it). I haven't found that problem with Alibre (yet). But even if I do, I know the developers are there and have my back.

Alibre will respond to you immediately. If you have a problem with the program, or if you don't understand how to do something in the application, they will respond lightning fast, and even possibly make a video on it! I remember while watching one of their videos, I had a question on how to show assembly processes in sheets, and the next video they made was specifically showing how to do this!! I was blown away!

If you are just getting into parametric 3D CAD, or are frustrated with the way Inventor or Fusion360 works, please give this application a try. The basic functionality is very similar to working in Inventor. I can even use this with my 3D Mouse like how I used it with Inventor and Fusion360.

There are a few version of this CAD or CAD/CAM, so check them out closely to see which aligns with how you apply the software to your business:
