Question #: 1082

Question: What are the power requirements for the Blackfoot setup? (https://www.buildyourcnc.com/blackFoot48v40.aspx) Volts & amperage? I would imagine it works from a regular, household 110 volt wall outlet? Thanks!

Current Solution

The electronics and motors are powered by a 36 volt power supply running a max of 8.8 amps. You can configure the system to run on 110v or 220v.

Additional Information:
If you wish to use a spindle (recommended), you will need a 220V outlet. You can still use a standard router and this will consume around 11 amps, depending on the model and power of router that you choose.

So, you can expect a total consumption of 11+8.8 = 19.8 amps.
