The PlasmaDiv is an industrial-grade isolation and signal-processing module designed to provide accurate, noise-filtered arc voltage feedback for CNC plasma cutting systems. By converting dangerous, high-voltage plasma signals into a safe and usable 0-10V output, the PlasmaDiv serves as the critical communication link between your plasma power source and your Torch Height Control (THC) electronics.
High-Voltage Sensing & Signal Isolation
The PlasmaDiv is engineered for maximum versatility, supporting two distinct input methods to accommodate nearly any plasma cutter on the market. For industrial or older units without a built-in divider, it features a high-voltage input stage capable of handling 0-500V with a precision 50:1 divider ratio. For modern plasma cutters already equipped with internal division, it offers a 1:1 low-voltage (10V) input pathway. To ensure the safety of your CNC controller, the board provides elite-level protection with up to 1200V RMS isolation and 6000V transient isolation, effectively shielding your sensitive logic board from high-voltage spikes and electromagnetic interference.
Integrated Control & Noise Filtering
Beyond simple voltage division, the PlasmaDiv functions as a comprehensive system interface. It includes a dedicated isolated start signal relay, allowing your CNC software to safely trigger the plasma arc without risk of ground loops or signal cross-talk. The input stage is equipped with high-frequency filtering specifically tuned to strip away the electrical "noise" generated by the plasma arc, delivering a stabilized 0-10V signal to your controller. This clean data stream is essential for responsive and accurate torch height adjustments, preventing the "jitter" or "diving" often seen with inferior unshielded dividers.
System Integration & Software Compatibility
Designed with a compact 120mm x 70mm footprint, the PlasmaDiv is easily integrated into any standard control cabinet. The terminal layout is organized for logical wiring, featuring dedicated SC terminals for 24VDC power, ARC_START, and the 0-10V output. For users running PoKeys57CNC hardware, the unit offers full plugin support for both Mach3 and Mach4, complete with streamlined configuration for analog voltage inputs and THC parameters. Its independent design makes it a flexible "drop-in" solution for both new professional builds and DIY retrofits.
Technical Specifications & Installation Standards
The unit operates on a standard 24VDC power input and is built to maintain signal integrity in the most demanding cutting environments. The hardware supports a single-input configuration—meaning users should utilize either the raw high-voltage terminals or the isolated 10V terminals, but never both simultaneously—to ensure accurate scaling. The board’s physical design emphasizes accessibility, with clearly labeled terminals for Arc Start relay connections and high-voltage inputs, allowing for a professional, code-compliant installation that is easy to troubleshoot and maintain.
