Question #: 6957

Question: If motors are wired for Bipolar series which leads do you swap for rotation?

Current Solution

For our motors, drivers and power supplies, we recommend bipolar parallel (relating to motors with more than 4 wires). The current draw and voltage combination under bipolar parallel results in better performance.

To reverse the motor spin direction for both bipolar series or bipolar parallel, switching the "A" wires with the "B" wires will do the trick.

  • DO NEED TO SQUARE UP THE MACHINE AND IF SO YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS OR VIDEO FOR THIS?

The eyebolts are used in the squaring of the machine. I would use a standard carpenters square and first run the end mill along the edge of the square to first make it parallel with the long axis. Then run the end mill along the other edge with the short axis and adjust the eye bolts and chain according to the angle that the machine is out of square.

  • DON'T WANT TO USE MY OWN MOTORS FOR THE REDLEAF CNC COMPUTER SYSTEM.

That shouldn't be a problem. I will need the current rating for the motors. We can subtract the price of the motors. and you can add you own. If you want us to solder the cable to the round connectors and them motor, you would need to send the motors to us.

Let me know and I can send a paypal invoice for the redLeaf without motors.

  • DO YOU GIVE AWAY THE PLANS FOR REDLEAF/REDSPROUT BOX?

Thanks for the kind words. The kit is available for those that want the parts to assemble the case which comes with the computer parts. If you don't need the computer parts, let me know and I will offer the bare bones without the computer system.

    Previous Solution:
I already have a DIY CNC machine with all my electronics but I have two cases the size of a mid tower PC and was looking to shrink the weight and footprint of all of them. I understand if you don't have plans available, I just really loved the design and compactness of your case.

    Previous Solution:
The redLeaf and redSprout boxes are meant to provide enclosure to the systems that we assemble in-house for customers that prefer a complete plug and play system. We provide the kit of parts for the enclosure from overwhelming customer request. There are no plans available for the enclosure and the complexity of the parts needed to be fabricated is quite high where the task of cutting out all of the intricate parts by hand would be a larger investment in time and materials than the cost to purchase the kit.

    Additional Information:
Just curious at what you would sell the box itself empty or the dimension files for the box for?

  • WHICH TRAVELERS ARE RECOMMENDED TO BE VACCINATED?

Healthcare providers should vaccinate any person who failed to get vaccinated in the previous vaccination season and who wants to reduce their risk of acquiring influenza during their upcoming travel, particularly if they are at high risk for influenza-related complications. This includes persons who are traveling to the tropics, traveling with organized tourist groups at any time of year, or traveling to the Southern Hemisphere during April-September.

  • CAN YOU RECOMMEND WHICH CNC MACHINE TO GO WITH FOR CUTTING MELAMINE AND MAKING KITCHEN DOORS FROM MDF. ALSO DO PROVIDE TRAINING ON OPERATING SETTING UP SHOP PRODUCTION USE? THANKS

All of our CNC machines can cut melamine. If your application (kitchen doors) requires large cutting area, then I would recommend the following machines:

    - greenBull 4x (4'x8'), 5x (5'x10') or 6x (6'x 12')

    - greenLean 4'x8' vertically oriented CNC machine

    - Or our Fabricator Pro 4'x8' metal CNC machine

  • MY MOTORS ARE RUNNING VERY HOT.

If your motors are hot to the touch, this is normal. Current is being drawn by the motor coils as the motor moves and as the motor stays at a position. If the motor is not using the current in the coils to move (holding it's position), the energy will be translated as heat (rather than motion, sound or light). Even while moving, some of the energy will be lost as heat. Remember that energy cannot be created nor destroyed.

  • WHICH OF OUR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS WILL NEED 2 DOSES INFLUENZA VACCINE FOR THE 2011–12 VACCINATION SEASON?

ACIP's influenza recommendations for children age 6 months through 8 years have changed for the 2011–12 season. According to the new algorithm, certain children need 2 doses of influenza vaccine this influenza season, separated by at least 4 weeks. Here is a summary:

    • Children age 6 months through 8 years who did not receive AT LEAST 1 dose of the 2010–11 vaccine should receive 2 doses, separated by at least 4 weeks, REGARDLESS of their previous influenza vaccination history.
    • Children age 6 months through 8 years whose influenza vaccination status from the previous season is not known should also receive 2 doses at least 4 weeks apart.
    • Children age 6 months through 8 years who received 1 dose of seasonal influenza vaccine during the 2010–11 season need ONLY 1 dose this season. This is because the vaccine strains are the same this season as last season.

  • ARE THERE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PREVENTION OF INSTITUTIONAL OUTBREAKS INFLUENZA?

The most important factor in preventing outbreaks is annual vaccination of all occupants of the facility, and all persons in the facility who share the same air as the high-risk occupants. Groups that should be targeted include physicians, nurses, and other personnel in hospitals and outpatient settings who have contact with high-risk patients in all age groups, and providers of home care to high-risk persons (e.g., visiting nurses, volunteers).
