Could you specify which breakout board you have? If you have a parallel port version, be sure that you have purchased the "legacy" parallel port version from Mach4. The connections between the driver and the breakout board(USB/Parallel)22-24 AWG wire is preference also going from the potentiometer going to LSPS(laser power supply) , now going from the power supply to the drivers/laser power supply 16-18 AWG wire is our preference.

This controller is easy to connect using standard wire screw terminals and works with the mach3 control software.

The space allotted for the laser tube on the blackTooth would not allow for a higher power laser tube. As the wattage of the laser tube increased, so does the length of the tube.

We do have a larger and more powerful laser in design and should be available in the second quarter of 2015.

Yes, we have cut many fabrics with the laser. Or CO2 lasers can generally cut fabrics and textiles without a problem. What types of textiles (materials) do you need to use with the laser machine? Is there a layering of materials?

We would cut multiple heights of different carpets and even hard surfaces such as Vinyl composition tile, Luxury vinyl tile,etc. and I'm wanting to explore etching into plain color carpets using the laser.
I'm contemplating your 5' x 12' machine with the laser/spindle combo.
Is it possible to make a site visit to your location and see the capabilities of the equipment ?

Carpets are not a problem as long as there are no materials in the carpet or in the carpet binding layers that will off-gas toxic fumes. Check the manufacturer's materials of all of the parts of the carpet.

The vinyl should not be a problem, just make sure there is no material mixed within the composite that will off-gas harmful fumes such as chloride. The chloride will mix with the hydrogen in the air and form HCL (hydrochloric acid) which can be harmful if inhaled, but can also affect some of the metallic parts in the machine.

We have cut vinyl with the laser with great results.

I own a custom rug shop where we design a fabricate custom floors of many types, Have you performed any type of testing using your 40 watt and or 80 watt laser for the cutting of thse textiles.

In regards to getting a complete plug and go system, there are a lot of items to consider.
Electronics, DYI or one of our electronics kits that come assembled and tested?
Cable for the motors is a additional purchase, spindle? = silicone tubing/water pump, etc.
Cable carrier (wire management), software (also additional purchase).

Exhausting the blackTooth laser cutter is a very important consideration and should be taken seriously, especially if you are cutting materials that give off toxic fumes when the material is burned. You will want a 4 inch hose to connect from the blackTooth to a blower, and another 4 inch hose to connect from the blower to the outside. The blower should be sufficient to provide completely negative pressure within the laser enclosure so there will be no escape of gasses.

The connections at the machine, at the blower and at the location the hose exhausts outside should be thoroughly checked for leaks. Use a gasket, or silicone. Once complete, try cutting a non-toxic material that will give off an odor (wood, or non-toxic plastic) and try the system and determine if the smell is present.

Mach3 and Mach4 typically use specific controller cards that are compatible with the software. If your controller connects to your computer using either a USB or Ethernet connection, then you will probably need to change the controller card as well, unless your controller card contains a plug-in that works with the Mach3 or Mach4 software.

Hello, I want to put together an XL verticle laser/cnc router. Need to do it on a limited budget. Can get many of the components and can mill most of the structure. Do you offer plans for such a project?

The overall size of the machine, really depends on both the area available to you and also the overall size of material being used. Now our larger machines (blackFoot, greenBull, greenLean) can cut all the materials mentioned above, and if equipped with our 2.2kW spindle you will be accurate up to ten thousandths of an inch.
Our greenBull machine does have an option for a long-z axis, that was especially designed to cut foam, but depending on the overall size it might not be a requirement for the specified request.
