That will depend on the controller that was installed in the redFly. If the controller is a pokeys57CNC controller, you can use Mach 4 with that system.

You can add a 4th axis and an ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) with the redFly system.

Does the Redfly that I bought with the GreenBull in 2016 work with Mach4? Also I want to add a 4th axis and a spindle with automatic tool changer. Will this work too or do I need a new control board? I bought my CNC with a longer Z travel, so I have plenty of room for these. Thanks!

On our CNC computer systems, we provided all the hardware required for a fully functional control package. But software items are not included OS systems and Supporting Software are not include, however if windows 7 is ordered we supply the mach 3 demo.

We do not add the OS system to our systems, due to the options that our customers have either going with(linux, windows).

I need to know if you have prices for educators, or other ways that a teacher could procure a blackToe 2'x4' CNC router. I apologize that this is sort of a bold question, as your routers are already well-priced.

The greenBull 4X comes with all of the components and electronics to assemble the gantry of the machine. You will need to build the table. We provide the rails and roller chain for the X-axis (along the length of the table for full 8 feet of travel). You will need to provide some wire to connect the electronics and a computer to run the machine. You will also need to purchase the software that you will need to run the machine that matches how you will apply the machine. We suggest the mach3 control program. The CAM program is up to you as there are many options out there.

Since this 4th axis already comes with a stepper motor, you will need a driver and some cable to connect to the driver from where the 4th axis will be placed. If you have extra space in the redFly electronics enclosure, you can fasten the driver there. You will also need some wire to connect the driver to the breakout baord.

We apologize for the confusion, however in the very first video that is regarding the assembly, is of the torsion box. We do not included that in any greenBull kit, as we use too sell it individually! However due to high consumption of materials and high cost(both in shipping and for the kit itself) we have removed it from our inventory and no longer sell it.

This video can be skipped, however if you plan on making a DIY torsion box, this video will be helpful in your build!

The torsion box is not needed, as the frame itself will be more than sufficient in keeping the machine from flexing or vibrating.

I ordered the GreenBull 5' x 10' kit. The first video for assembly shows that I should have 5 large boards that attach to the table, but I don't have those boards. Is that something I need to build or were they not shipped?

Looking for a solution myself. Proper operation would be for the limit switch to only disable further travel in the effected direction while still allowing travel in the opposite direction.

As for now, I am just using the jog arrows within the software or the VGA controller.

The files and hardware option for our machines has been removed from the site due to the following reasons:
Difficulty for the end use of the files and the challenges (and time/money) on our side to assist in using these files.
The abuse of these files over the internet.

I have rhino software, I am going to purhase planet cnc software. Would I need any more.

The greenBull uses roller chain for the X and Y axes. The drive sprockets have 14 teeth and the pitch (from crown to crown, or pin to pin measurement) is 1/4" (0.25 inches). You will need the pitch circumference which is: 14 * .25 = 3.5 inches. We need to find the steps per inch (steps/inch). We now have the inches for one full revolution. Now we need to find the number of steps for one full rotation of the motor. For these sprockets, I find that 16 microsteps is best. Make sure that the drivers for the X and Y axes are set to 1/16 microstepping. The motor have 200 steps per rotation, so the total steps with 1/16 microsteps is 200 * 16 = 3200. So the steps/inch is 3200 step / 3.5 inches = 914.286.

The velocity should be around 400-1000. Test various values for velocity and make sure that no stalling happens. Start with a very low acceleration and determine it's top velocity. When the top velocity is found, reduce the velocity to give you a good factor of safety. Then increase the acceleration until it stall at a low velocity and then reduce the acceleration to give you a good factor of safety for acceleration.

Do the same thing for the z-axis. The lead screw pitch circumference is 0.5 inches (2 turns per inch or 5starts/10tpi).

WHAT LENGTHS OF ROLLER CHAIN DO I USE FOR THE GREENBULL 4X CNC?

You will need a cam program to create machining operations for the geometry in the .dwg file. The CAM program outputs these machining operations into g-code for the control program (planet-cnc) to use.
