Hi, is it possible to buy only plans. I live in Europe and it gets quite pricy with shipping costs.

The files and hardware option for our machines has been removed from the site due to the following reasons:
Difficulty for the end use of the files and the challenges (and time/money) on our side to assist in using these files.
The abuse of these files over the internet.
Ultimately may reduce the sales of machines keeping us in business.
Sadly, this is what has come out of our company attempting to be open; however, the machines sold on this site is still far lower in price than the competition for the quality that we provide as we have a great desire to engender the cottage industry to fulfill their need for low end manufacturing. My sincere apologies if this causes any inconvenience.

Will it be possible to only buy the CNC plans, I live in South Africa and shipping is very expensive...

We are able to ship internationally but unfortunately we cannot control the shipping costs incurred for international customers. However, if you are associated with educational programs or Makerspaces and/or Fab Labs we do offer certain discounts in some cases. what options can you offered to international customers to assist in them building one of your machines? International shipping of a kit would be too expensive.

The USB controller will only work with the Planet-CNC software. This software is well made and will provide great functionality. The planet-cnc software delivers instructions to the microcontroller on the board and the microcontroller will send out the pulse trains needed to move the machine correctly.

There are two main alternatives if you want to use the mach3 software:
First, get a parallel port card and add it to your computer and get a parallel breakout board. If you have a laptop/notebook computer, this will not be possible.
Second, if you have a laptop, or really want to use the USB as the main interface for controlling the machine, you will need to get the smoothstepper board which works with mach3. The price combination is much higher than the USB controller with planet-cnc, but will work with Mach3.

The planet cnc controller can be prone to electrical interference and has been known to cause such problems. In the first instance try to use a quality double sheilded USB cable, hopefully this will fix your problem. Alternatively you may need to sheild your limit switch, estop and or motor cabling. My pick is that a quality USB cable will fix it though, worked for me.

I ordered a 2.2kW spindle as a guest on March 3rd. How long does it take for you to provide shipping information?

Torque is measured from the center of the shaft to the pitch diameter divided by 2 of the sprocket in inches or feet and is able to move (rotate) with a force at this measurement tangential to the pitch diameter circle. The smaller this pitch diameter is, the less torque is required by the motor to turn the sprocket under load. If you are starting with a large sprocket, say with a pitch diameter of 5 inches (2.5 inches radius), it is easy to reduce the size of the drive sprocket to increase the mechanical advantage. All you need to do is take the 2.5 inches and divide that by 3 to find the new pitch radius.
