That will depend on the controller that was installed in the redFly. If the controller is a pokeys57CNC controller, you can use Mach 4 with that system.

You can add a 4th axis and an ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) with the redFly system.

I would rather buy a pre-configured VFD from you if you don't have the settings for my HT since I have already fried one spindle because of lack of documentation from the manufacturer. I ordered a 1.5KW 110 volt spindle. I just received the box and the spindle clearly says on the foam packaging and the side of the spindle that it is 220V. I think you shipped me the wrong spindle

Our 1.5/2.2kW spindle will work with both setups, in our wiring diagram it is more seen as the Euro/AUS-style, however you can do the same thing with the North American style as well. Also depending on if you have single or three phase 220V, you can use pins R, S, T. A manual will arrive in the VFD box, which will have further information and diagrams.

Please seek a certified electrician if you are unsure of any aspect in wiring the spindle or VFD, since wiring to main lines will require wiring of the plug and main lines to the inverter and to avoid any damage or injury's while installing the 1.5/2.2kW spindle and VFD combo.

On the wiring diagrams for the 220v inverters I noticed that there is one hot (220) a neutral and a ground. Will the inverter work with the American split phase system? Hot (120) hot (120) ground?

I just purchased the 2.2 kW water cooled spindle. I also ordered a 1/8" collet to go with it, since I assume it comes with a 1/4" collet. Is this correct?

Depending on the type of motors and connection type, you could adapt your motors to work with our electronic packages, but you will receive additional motors since our kit is complete.

Now you will have to take into affect the actual motors you have and compare or get accurate replacements(Ex. our 425 oz motor(1/4" input shaft) will have to be same size or similar entry holes)

I purchased the original instructions about 3 years ago and successfully built that device. Now I am looking at the 13X36 Bluechick base kit. Will all my original electronics work with the new kit? Is there a parts list that you could send me for the 13x36 Kit?

Many shielded cables come in various materials and designs, so having one with a copper mesh covering the inner insulator wire is no problem. We currently use a extension cord found locally at a hardware store and include one 18G wire for ground. So a specific shielded cable is not a required, unless being used next to specific and sensitive electronics that are extremely sensitive to noise and voltage interference than a shielded cable is required.

I used a small pond pump inside a 5 gallon bucket. I put a little bit of windshield washer fluid in with it to keep anything from growing in it. It's worked great. I've had 1 hour run times with no noticeable increase in spindle temp.

I am interested in buying the 2.2 kW spindle. Does it run much quieter than a 2 hp Porter Cable router? You also mention a pump with a bucket of water. How long until the water is too warm to cool the spindle?

The squeal you hear from your spindle running at low RPM is probably not associated with bad bearings (I guess it depends on the sound). All of our spindles running at low RPM has a distinct sound, probably caused by the coils and the magnets.

Hello, I have a chinese 2.2KW spindle that is nearly new purchased with a CNC I bought while in china, I have noticed at lower RPM there is a distinct squeal. Does this indicate bad bearings?

You may want to try using a ferrite core or an inductor in addition to the shielded cable. Also, make sure you are grounding the shield at both ends. Even though this is not high frequency, grounding the shield at both ends in a motor scenario may help. Also, try to reduce any parallel wire runs.

Yes, you can connect a THC, Torch Height Controller, with the Mach3 USB controller. The THC uses the inputs to determine if the z axis needs to move up or down according to the arc of the plasma torch. The THC connects its outputs to the inputs of the controller so the controller will be informed of the states of the plasma torch.

I recently purchase the BlackToe v2.1 (4x8) at a local school auction. The table is complete, however, it is missing the spindle and came in 4 (four) separate pieces. Are there plans for this machine that I would be able to use to reconstruct and determine if anything else is missing.

The ring inside the nut is purposely machined in this way to allow movement for the collet. Try threading the nut counterclockwise a little bit until it seems to be flush on the spindle extension. This should ensure the collet nut will thread correctly without stripping the threads on the pipe.

I purchased a 220V spindle with invertor last week and the ER20-A Clamping nut appears to milled incorrectly. I installed the spindle for the first time last night and was unable to screw the nut any distance with a bit inside. Looking inside the nut, there is a machined ring that is visibly off center.

The 2.2kW spindle will accept up to 9/16" (a little over 1/2") end mill shanks down to very small diameters (any size that ER-20 will accept). The 1.5kW spindle has a reduced collet size and will only accept up to 5/16". The 1.5kW will accept ER-11 collets.

You will be fine with using 2 NEMA 23/24 (425 oz-in) and 1 NEMA 34 (651 oz-in) motors with the Woodsmith CNC build with a large heavy router with a 1/2" collet. Specifically, the Woodsmith CNC build uses lead screws for each axis and this will provide mechanical advantage allowing the motors along with the drive mechanics (lead screws) an increase in torque.
