Does the power supply in the "3 Axis Electronics Combo (Small Motors)" have a 220V input option?

When you add a specific length to your cart, the additional length will be in inches.
So you will need to add the total length which will be 98" in total!

If this is for the scratch build kit (book CNC) the total length (98") of lead screw you will need for this machine is the three axes added together:

X-axis: 52"
Y-axis: 32"
Z-axis: 14"

Does "Additional Length" for the Lead Screw mean Additional Length in inches? So for the 4' x-axis I have to choose Additional Length=52?

I haven't delved into using encoders with stepping motors too much. From my research, you need to have a controller that can provide the closed loop control, rather than software handling that process. I have also found from my research that using encoders on stepping motors is generally used to stop the machine in the case that the motor failed to achieve the commanded position for some reason and gives the user the chance to correct and continue with the job.

If you want proper closed loop control, it may be best to go with servos and servo controller that provide the closed loop control within the real of those two components.

You will need to change the default attribute of the browser that you are using (i.e. Google Chrome, IE, Firefox).

Instructions to change this default attribute:
1. Click on the "start menu"
2. Click on "control panel"
3. Click on "programs"
4. Click on "default programs"
5. Click on "set you default programs"
6. Select the browser that you would like to fix
7. Click on "choose defaults for this program"

If the pins from the terminal block on the side of the board are outputs, or at least 2 of them are outputs, then you can connect our modular driver to the board (example: cw230). If they are all inputs, then you would not be able to connect an external driver.

I AM USING A XYLOTEX 3 AXIS BOARD AND WANT TO ADD ANOTHER MOTOR SLAVED THE X-AXIS. WILL DRIVE CW230 WORK?

The installation of the motor inside the gantry is mounted and wired before installation of the back plate of the gantry. For Example, our blackFoot machine seen in steps(124/139), you can see that the gantry and and z axis is complete finished before back plate is placed.

Am I supposed to drill a hole in the back of the gantry to access the wires for the motor?? There does not seem to be a way to access the wires for the x axis motor once the gantry back is installed.

If your computer does not have a parallel port, all you will need is a low cost PCI parallel adapter card (these can be found on amazon for $15-$20). If you plan on using a laptop (not recommended) you can try to find a PCMCIA parallel adapter, but many people have frequent issues with this setup. A more expensive solution would be to purchase a USB smooth stepper board. Unfortunately, we do not supply any of these adapters and cannot attest to their reliability.

MY COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE A PARALLEL PORT. HOW DO I INTERFACE WITH THE BREAKOUT BOARD?

The eyebolts are used in the squaring of the machine. I would use a standard carpenters square and first run the end mill along the edge of the square to first make it parallel with the long axis. Then run the end mill along the other edge with the short axis and adjust the eye bolts and chain according to the angle that the machine is out of square.

The 651 oz/in NEMA 34 stepper motor does have a dual shaft. The shaft extends 19 mm at both ends.

The NEMA 25 motor uses a different current than other motors. Make sure when you test the NEMA 25 motor, the current setting is at 2.43.

The motor was tested on the same axes were the others work but one of the NEMA 24 425 Oz motors dose not turn just jitters.

What is the number of pole pairs and rotor inertia for NEMA 23 Stepping motor?

You will need a cam program to create machining operations for the geometry in the .dwg file. The CAM program outputs these machining operations into g-code for the control program (planet-cnc) to use.
