Question: [Mach3 CNC Control Software] What G codes are supported

Current Solution

Mach3 is a widely used CNC control software. Depending on the CAM or CAD (with CAM support), there should be a post processor for Mach3 built-in.

If you are writing your own g-code, Mach3 has an extensive list of g-codes and m-codes which is listed below. This list comes from the Mach3 usage manual in chapter 10 Mach2 G- and M Code Language Reference (https://www.machsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Mach3Mill_1.84.pdf).

G0 - Rapid positioning
G1 - Linear interpolation
G2 - Clockwise circular/helical interpolation
G3 - Counterclockwise circular/Helical interpolation
G4 - Dwell
G10 - Coordinate system origin setting
G12 - Clockwise circular pocket
G13 - Counterclockwise circular pocket
G15/G16 - Polar Coordinate moves in G0 and G1
G17 XY - Plane select
G18 XZ - plane select
G19 YZ - plane select
G20/G21 - Inch/Millimetre unit
G28 - Return home
G28.1 - Reference axes
G30 - Return home
G31 - Straight probe
G40 - Cancel cutter radius compensation
G41/G42 - Start cutter radius compensation left/right
G43 - Apply tool length offset (plus)
G49 - Cancel tool length offset
G50 - Reset all scale factors to 1.0
G51 - Set axis data input scale factors
G52 - Temporary coordinate system offsets
G53 - Move in absolute machine coordinate system
G54 to G58 - Use fixture offset 1 - 5
G59 - Use fixture offset 6 / use general fixture number
G61/G64 - Exact stop/Constant Velocity mode
G68/G69 - Rotate program coordinate system
G70/G71 - Inch/Millimetre unit
G73 - Canned cycle - peck drilling
G80 - Cancel motion mode (including canned cycles)
G81 - Canned cycle - drilling
G82 - Canned cycle - drilling with dwell
G83 - Canned cycle - peck drilling

  • THESE MACHINES ARE DANGEROUS, WHAT DO DO?

These machines are inherently dangerous. Before the machine moves, the machine should be clear of any person by a dimension of at the distance of a persons reach plus a few more feet. This is the policies we institute in our shop and what is recommend to all of our customers. Treat these machines as you would treat any major power tool in the shop.

With that said, you can certainly add some protective parts, but still keep folks away even with those installed. I would use the gantry side to do all of the mounting of the protective parts. Consider using sheet metal that you can bend and make a simple installation right on the gantry side.

  • WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS FOR GREENBULL TABLE?

Actual table dimension: 4'x8' is 56.078"x 121.50" (the overhang in the illustrations should be 3/4" thick)
To determine the frame dimensions, first consider using the frame height shown of almost 3' (2.86'). The width of the frame should be 4" narrower than the dimension from rail edge to rail edge (6X rail to rail is 80.078"). This will provide a 2" overhang on both sides (4X frame width should be 56.078").
The length of the frame should be 4" shorter than the desired length of the rails to provide a 2" overhang on both ends. The travel length will be 20" shorter than the rail length due to the space occupied by the gantry sides.
Two long pieces of 3/4" material will need to be placed on top of the frame with the 2" overhang on the sides and the end. These long strips of material will receive the rails and the chain mounts on the ends.

  • WHAT ARE THE HEALTH RISKS OF LIVING NEAR A CELL PHONE TOWER?

There is very little radiofrequency (RF) energy exposure to people inside a building from a cellular base station located on its roof. There are several reasons for this. First, the transmitters operate at low power levels. Second, the antennas are normally mounted near the edges of the roof and are aimed away from the building. Third, most cellular transmitters use "high gain" or panel antennas. Such antennas transmit most of their energy in a narrow beam (in the vertical direction) from their front surfaces, away from the building. They radiate very little energy downwards towards the roof or backwards from their rear surfaces. Finally, building materials absorb a significant fraction of the RF energy passing through them. As a result, the RF signal levels at any location inside the building are invariably low and far below safety limits. The situation might be different in some locations on the roof itself. RF signal levels close to (within a few feet) and directly in front of cellular base station antennas can easily exceed safety limits. Some precautions are needed to prevent people from walking directly in front of the antennas while they are transmitting. This applies also to paging and other systems that use rooftop antennas, some of which transmit at higher power levels than many cellular base stations. Kenneth R. Foster, Ph.D.

  • WHAT ARE THE BLACKTOOTH LENS SIZES AND FOCAL LENGTH SPECIFICATIONS?

The lens is 20mm wide and a 50.6mm focal length (the one included). This lens will stand up to at least 30PSI air assist.

The mirrors are 25mm wide mirrors.

Focal length is the distance from the lens to the material for the laser converge into the best focal point. If a lens is listed as 2". You measure 2" from the lens to the material, this will be the tightest point the laser can go before it starts to re-expand again losing focus.
