If the spindle runs in the opposite direction than what the VFD shows in the indicator (also when X4 and X5 terminals are used) that sounds like your three wires going to the spindle are incorrect. All you need to do is switch two of the wires and your spindle will run in the correct direction.

I have the YL600-2S-2K20 P 110V VFD. I have configured it for using an external source to control the run. According to the enclosed documentation to set to forward run it shows using the X4 terminal. When I use X4 and tell it to run the Rev led lights. If I change to use the X5 terminal it lights the For led. Is your documantation that was included incorrect or do I have something set wrong?

Limit switches for axis. The print shows that you can wire the limits either n.o. or n.c. so if this is correct I would need to tell the board in the software how to look at these limits, I'm either going to get an input or loose an input depend on how i wire it.

When wiring line voltage to the VFD your diagram shows one line of 240 going to the R terminal and a neutral going to the T terminal. My electrician thinks this may be incorrect and he believes that one leg of 120 should run to the R terminal and the other leg of 120 to either S or T. I'm having an issue with the AVI PWM output on my board the PW low is about half the voltage of PW High, so if I use 5v I get 2.5 v on low or if I use 10v I get 5v on low? I traced the signal back with my Oscilloscope and found that I get a PW low of 0v on the base of what looks like a smd transistor opposite the DCM connector, do you think I have a got a faulty board?

This will depend on the VFD you have to identify the correct terminal. The terminal on the VFD will be labeled AI1 typically (Analog Input #1). You will also need to make sure to complete the PWM circuit using the GND terminal on the VFD.

I have not hear of this. This cold be an issue with using later firmware, but I have not come across having to cut the trace for the reset enable on the Arduino board.

According to the manual, P09 is the parameter needed to unlock the VFD if a value has been entered into P08, the password parameter. If the password value is entered into P08, you will need to enter the same password into P09 to see the value in P08 and access the other parameters.

SOLUTION: If you do not remember the password that was entered into P08, then you can enter the value of 55555 into the P09 parameter and P08 will show the password. Take that value presented in P08 and you will be able to enter it into the P09 parameter and the VFD will be unlocked.

I am trying to program my 220 volt VFD and it has locked me out. It keeps flashing and the only parameter I can change is P009. I also keep getting a Er 3 code which means input voltage out of parameters but the input voltage is correct. How can I get back to being able to adjust the parameters?

Dealing with our USB BoB, it is really similar to the MK1 board, but is also loosely based on their DIY board as well. We have not seen that much of jitters or jerks, that we have noticed here while fabricating and testing the boards. We have not heard that many issues dealing with the board about abnormalities in running, unless we have not been notified in regards to customers who have used them under continuous use.

Its mentioned that your USB Breakout board is based on Planet-CNC's MK1 board. Planet-CNC on their forums mention that they've discontinued their MK1 because of a low buffer memory which caused jitters and jerks in the machine? Am I likely to face a similar problem with your board?

If the sensors are NC (normally closed) you can wire them in series. If the sensors are NO (Normally Open) you can still wire them to the same input, but the wiring needs to be in parallel (like a ladder). I have more information on the following video:

It seems to be getting some kind of interference or a short within the wiring or communication, try jogging the motors in the software without anything wired to the board. Then add one motor at a time to see if there is a short within your wiring or a faulty driver/motor.

Make sure that the port setting for that output is set to port 3. To do this in Mach3, click config -> Ports & Pins -> click the outputs tab and in the list of outputs, select the output you want to use and set the port to 3.

I have a single axis motion for my table saw fence. Motor, limit switches and e-stop work fine. I now need to add an air solenoid relay but I cannot get the outputs to work. I have 24v supply connected and tried using the Spindle output on pin 1. But using a multimeter, there is no voltage on the Output 1 terminal.

The digital signal portion of the CO2 laser tube power supply has various terminals for signal power, signal gnd, laser intensity and engaging the laser (turning it on or off). The TL and TH are triggers to turn the laser power on or off. These may be labeled L or H on some laser power supplies. You can use either TL/L, or TH/H to control the laser.

If you use the TL or L terminal to control the laser:
If a low signal (gnd) is present at that terminal, the laser will turn on. If a high signal (5v) is present, the laser will turn off.

If you use the TH or H terminal to control the laser:
If a high signal (5v) is present at that terminal, the laser will turn on. If a low signal (gnd) is present, the laser will turn off.

You should first test the control signal from the interface with a multimeter to make sure the laser will be controlled correctly before powering the laser power supply

On the blacktooth machine wiring diagram for parallel breakout a wire goes from 6 on the BOB to TL on the laser power supply. My power supply has an"H" followed by a "L". Which is correct? I've connected to the "L" but the laser appears always on.

I'VE BUFFERED A PWM SIGNAL TO 0-10V ANALOG AND I WOULD LIKE USE THAT RUN YOUR 110V 2.2KW SPINDLE VFD. COULD YOU PLEASE DETAIL THE CORRECT WIRING VFD SETTINGS GET WORKING?

Here is how to connect your router to the parallel breakout board through the on-board relay. You will need a spare extension cord. You will need to remove a portion of the outer jacket of the extension cord to expose the white, black and green wires (white = neutral, black = live and green = ground), understanding that the neutral and live create the completed circuit.

The live/black wire would be cut and one end of the cut would be secured into the P terminal and the other cut end would be secured into the S terminal. The live and ground wire would be uncut and travel from the plug to the router.

Yes, a 24V external power supply with the jumper positioned. I'm using the ethernet port so the 24v is the only source of power. I plan to measure the amp draw when I have a chance to see how much the vfd is drawing on the analog out.

Further information. The resistance across the terminals on the vfd is 22k ohms. With an independent 0-10v current source I can run the spindle from 20 to 400 Hz. The PokeysCNC only gets to 3.8v with the vfd attached (and the vfd is at 150 Hz) compared to 10v when the vfd is not attached. The power to the PokeysCNC is steady at 24.18 V, so I'm not maxing out the power supply. Still looking for thoughts on what might be going on?

And the other thing - The measured amperage is 0.17 mA for the 0-10 V signal (which makes perfect sense for 3.7 V and 22k Ohms).

Just to bring finality to this issue - I added a 2.2 microfarad capacitor across the 0-10V input terminal (from signal to ground). This solved the issue. Evidently, it was an electrical noise issue.

My pokeysCNC board creates and analog signal of 0-10V for 0 to 24000 spindle rpm just like it should from Mach3. However, when the spindle is on, the voltage only gets to about 3.8V for 24000 rpm. It seems like the vfd is drawing more current than the pokeyscnc analog output can produce. It there an easy solution to this problem?

The HY VFD has three main terminals for PWM control. These terminal inputs are:
- VI for the analog (PWM) voltage input (input at the VFD, output at the controller, i.e. the Mach3 USB controller),
- 10V output (this is an output from the VFD and an input at the controller) serves as the high voltage value for the width of the voltage,
- and ACM the ground from the controller (DCM at the controller)

In the parameters:
- PD002 should be set to 1 (one). PD002 is the source of operating frequency which is the RPM of the spindle in the Hz frequency units. 400Hz = 24000 RPM.
- PD003 specifies the frequency range for these terminals (10V, VI, and ACM) where 10V (voltage reference) is 400Hz and 0v is 0Hz, and VI adjusts the range from 0 and the voltage reverence (10V).
- PD070 selects the voltage range or current range (for use with the AI external VFD terminal as opposed to using the VI). You want to keep that parameter at the factory setting of 0 (zero) 0-10V.

[575] Can you please point me in the direction of a list of VFD Parameters for this to as intended for spindle speed control? I’m using Hunyang VFD. I’ve verified outputs/relays working as intended and PWM signal is correct at the VFD, but its still pulling speed control from the onboard pot instead of PWM signal. I’ve tried every combination of parameters I can think of but no luck.

For our parallel breakout board (https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-parallel-breakout-relay#prettyPhoto/2/) the schematic will show the connections going from the BB to the drivers. The parallel breakout board uses the 25 pin parallel connection to communicate from the computer to drivers, and the USB is used to power the main-board itself, supplying 5V.
