Question: [USB and Ethernet CNC Control (Pokeys57CNC)] I am trying to install the Pokeys configuration and Poblocks on a windows 10 computer. An error message says Ineed net frameworks 2.5 qnd 3.0.Both appear to be unavalable.Solution?

Here is the information I received from the developer:

These are available on Windows 10. PoBlocks does not require .NET, but the communication library that the PoKeys app uses does need it.

Go to the control panel -> Search for "Turn Windows features on or off" -> Make sure the checkbox on the line ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)" is checked (or filled in).

  • I had to wipe my computer due to virus and now can not download the USB software again. I get a "unhandled exception" error message. Any suggestions?

    An unhandled exception generally means that, in the program code, the program is not checking against every possible exception that could occur. Most likely, this exception is caused by some limit that is being exceeded (or the other way around). I would remove any files that could be associated with the program, like setting files, or even register configurations associated with that software. Also, make sure that you completely update your version of windows.

    Check to make sure all of the drivers are current for your graphics hardware. Make sure that your graphics hardware works in other programs as well.

    If you upgraded the Windows version, check to make sure your graphics hardware is compatible with the new version of Windows. Unhandled exception issue may be associated with graphics hardware and compatibility.

    I've given up on the wiped laptop and loaded the program on a different computer using windows 8. At first it won't operate my CNC until I read on Planet-CNC forum about loading the drivers on windows 8. All working now. Will run through the calibrations again today. Thanks

After refrencing the wiring diagram on line and the totorial, may I ask for an updated diagram or totorial, the current version do not appear to match match the configuration provided. I do not feel confidant in the educational guess, that I have. thanks

    Wiring diagrams for the Laser Power Supply will be mostly the same with the updated power supply. The main difference is the newer power supply contains a secondary green terminal block on the front of the power supply next where the hard leads are connected. This differs from the older power supply which had contact points on the back of the power supply.   • How should I configure the 110v vfd with 2.2kw spindle? When I use the configuration on the spindle page, I get an over-current error (e.oc.a).

    Please use these settings for our 110V VFD's:

    Change PD001 to '0' or '1' (source of run commands/one will be computer controlled)
    Change PD003 to 300 (main frequency - Hz)
    Change PD004 to 300 (base frequency - Hz)
    Change PD005 to 400 (max operating frequency - Hz)
    Change PD006 to 2.5 (intermediate frequency - Hz)
    Change PD008 to 110 (max voltage - V)
    Change PD009 to 15 (intermediate voltage - V)
    Change PD010 to 8 (minimum voltage - V)
    Change PD011 to 100 (frequency lower limit - Hz)

    Yes, Mach3 (the software profram) will work with Windows 7, and windows 10 when coupled with the Mach3 USB interface. If you intend to use the parallel port driver, stick with Windows 7 in 32-bit mode.

    Additional Information:
    Rnrmotion.dll is a dynamic link library which is very similar in function to an executable program, or app. Since a dll is executable, malicious code can be embedded in that type of file, so windows will automatically flag all files of this type. You just need to make sure you are downloading from a trusted source. The emotion.dll file on our site is clean, but still run run windows defender against it to make sure.

    Yes, the RNRMotion.dll file must be used and put in the plugins folder under the Mach3 folder.

    The XML file that I link on the Mach3 USB controller page is the file you should start with. This file will have the necessary configuration that links the Mach3 USB controller to the Mach3 control software. You can then make whatever changes you need to this configuration to tailor it to your machine.

    Do you see a quick flashing red led on the board when you press the arrow keys?

    There are many ways to wire an emergency stop switch. The simplest, and arguably the most certain, way is to wire the switch into the incoming power so that throwing the switch kills all power to every part of the machine.     Alternatively, you could use an input pin on your USB board. The wiring would depend on whether and how you might be using limit switches (single or multiple switches; normally open or normally closed).   • What are the configuration settings for VFD for Spindle 1.5kW 110V. The search settings have a link for a 2.2kw spindle so I'm afraid they are the wrong ones and I don't want to fry the spindle. My VFD is an Huanyang HY01D511B.

    Did you get a manual for your VFD? Where did you purchase the VFD and spindle?

    I bought the VFD through Amazon with a similar spindle that you sell. The VFD came with a manual but unfortunately the spindle had all the model number and specs scratched off of it. In an attempt to set it up, I fried the spindle. I have complained to the vendor and to Amazon but have received no solution. If your spindle arrives with proper documentation I probably can set it up myself.

    Are you using this output with a relay, or without a relay?

    For the integrated computer for the blackTooth, the hard drive doe not need to be formatted, but will require an OS (operating system) to be installed. Ubuntu Linux can be installed with the CNC integrated software from Linuxcnc.org. Windows can also be installed.

    I am having the same problem. The up,down,ark light up. When I run a program the thc controller come on center light stays on and the up and down lights work. Mach 3 program stands still like the program is stalled. The torch stays on but no movement

  • Whiteant- In the software there is a configuration for a heated bed. Where would I wire this in the kit's electronics if i bought one? Would the temperature be on/off or PID?

    Currently we planned on having upgraded electronics with the whiteAnt 3D printer, which would have had the ability to support the heated bed, and other options. Which is why there was a configuration file in the downloadable files. However in newer developments we have been working on our prototype blackAnt 3D printer which will have the upgraded electronics and the option for the heated bed, but currently our whiteAnt cannot support the heated bed with the gen4 electronics supplied with the kit.

    Mach4 is designed to run in both 64 and 32-bit computers and operating systems, however, the parallel port interface will not work with 64-bit windows. The easiest solution would be to use a more modern CNC controller, like the:

    If you already have a Mach3 license, you don't need to purchase another one. The license is connected to you rather than the computer. Mach4 is licensed to the computer, but you are able to have multiple computers for each license, and can be switched from one computer to another.

  • I have the older discontinued USB breakout board. The y-axis no longer works and have traced it to the breakout board. Is there a replacement board that can use the same Planet CNC software running on Windows 10?

    No, we have gotten away from the planet-cnc boards as they have decided to not support our board with their software. You can use the Mach3 USB board as an alternative. You will be better off with Mach3 as a control software as this is widely used and supported.

  • As I am building my 20" x 24" laser engraver cutter, I notice that there is no parallel port on the onboard computer and I have the parallel breakout board any answers?

    Most motherboard do contain parallel ports, but the port connector may not be at the back (in the section where external connectors will be connected). Instead, the motherboard may contain an LPT ribbon connector on the actual face of the motherboard (usually along one of the edges). You will need a ribbon connector to a DB25 female connector.

    If your motherboard does not contain an LPT header on the motherboard, you can purchase a parallel printer adapter that plugs into one of the PCI slots. The price of the adapter is very inexpensive and sometimes is actually less costly than the actual ribbon connector.

    These instructions are lame at best, a friend of mine ordered one of these to install on a knife grinder that I built for him, and I proceeded to setup the unit, upon connecting it to the motor, it runs the motor, but hunt's at the lower speeds, and the setting I am looking for just isn't in the list, there's some settings in the 14's that don't say what there for, can anyone help?
