Roller chain in general is adjustable by using "master links", which are links which have horseshoe clip holding the pin and thus allow connections to be made or broken. The #25 is a designation of the type of roller chain. ANSI codes designate that the first digit(s) specify the pitch in eights of an inch, and the last digit is 0 for standard chain, 1 for lightweight chain, and 5 for bushed chain with no rollers. So #25 is 2/8 = 1/4 inch pitch bushed chain with no rollers.

Is the "#25 Roller Chain" adjustable to any length? Like if I ordered ten feet of it, can I make two 3-foot loops and one 4-foot loop using some sort of chain joiner?

The USB interface only works with momentary switches unfortunately. If you have extensive knowledge of digital electronics, you can apply a receiver that uses a microcontroller and a transmitter with another microcontroller that produces the pulsing signal with the controls that you need.

I would like to make a handheld remote for the USB CNC Board using a joystick instead of momentary switches. Could you suggest one that will work with your board.

Dealing with running our CNC machines with roller chain on the X/Y-axes and lead screw on the Z-axis, we chose this method due to functionality and cost effectiveness. We wanted to make the lowest cost CNC machine available for our customers without taking to much functionality and precision away from the machine. We wanted the accuracy and cost effectiveness to be surprisingly high, with our machines getting thousandths of an inch will be no issue, and having it at a decent price!

The 2.2kW spindle will have the same amount of torque and strength using either the 110V or the 220V inverter. Nothing will significantly change in either application since the 110V inverter has a small step up transformer which will increase the voltage from 110V to 220V to run the spindle efficiently.

Good morning, I would like to know if the strength of the 2.2kw spindle is weaker when using the 110V version of the VFD. Does it have the same power as the 220V version VFD?

Yes, the 651 oz/in motor requires a driver that is compatible to the motors (the motor will draw 6 amps max and the driver paired with this motor will be able to allow for a 6 amp draw). I would also recommend a 36 volt power supply for better high velocity performance.

I HAVE ONE OF YOUR SMALLER STEPPER MOTORS RUNNING MY X AXIS BRIDGE CRANE AND IF IT IS MOVED TO FAST THE MOTOR SOUNDS LIKE SKIPPING STEPS WILL 651OZ REQUIRE A DIFFERENT POWER SUPPLY CONTROLER?

If your motors are making a strange noise as it begins a motion, or as it ramps up to the desired speed, then it is hitting it's maximum torque. First, make sure that your motor tuning (steps/inch, velocity and acceleration) are set correctly. The steps per inch should be set according to the microstepping set on the driver, and for the specific mechanics that is being used on that axis. Step/inch = (200 * microstepping) / (number of inches for one complete revolution). Second, make sure the correct current and microstepping is set on the driver for the motor that is having issues.

Building one of your greenBull 6X Long and 2.2 kilowatt spindle does not fit. Seems lead screw you sent with kit is short 42" looks like it needs to be 5 or 6 inch longer. Is this correct? What is the needed length of lead screw for this unit?

Do you have any videos or plans for how to make a strong table for a large CNC router? I saw the torsion box videos but would like some more guidance on how to build just a good table.

Feedback and positioning:

- Open-loop is where the computer does not have feedback, but it has the current position as per the number of pulses it has sent to the stepper motors. As long as the stepper motors are tuned so that there is a safety factor, then your machine will always be at the correct position. This scenario is common and typical for CNC machines

- Closed-loop is where the computer receives feedback from the motors and is common on very high end CNC machines. The computer sends the pulses, or signal for the motors to attempt to achieve a particular position. The servo motors will use a PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) to continue to achieve a particular position where the driver/computer will tell the motor to go back and forth (getting better as it goes) for the position. This back and forth (the PID in action) is usually imperceptible.

I forget the term for it, but are the encoders "absolute" in regards to their positioning? So if for some reason a cut is interrupted the machine can regain its position?
